Description:

The “Touchless Smart Tap Control” is an innovative automation project designed for students to explore sensor-based water dispensing systems. This working model demonstrates how a smart, touch-free water tap can be implemented using a relay system and an AC pump, making it a hygienic and water-efficient solution.

The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, simulating a real-world sink or water dispensing system. A 12mm transparent tube is used to direct the water flow, while an L bend and cut-off valve help regulate the movement of water. An AC pump is responsible for pumping water through the system when activated.

The electrical system consists of a 5V relay, BC547 transistor, resistors, and an IN4007 diode to control the activation of the pump. A voltage regulator ensures a steady power supply, while a battery clip and 2-pin top provide power connectivity. Silk wire and connecting wires help in efficient circuit setup.

To enhance the model’s visual appeal, artificial plants are added around the base, making it more engaging. This project offers students hands-on learning in automation, electronics, and water conservation technology, demonstrating how touchless tap systems can contribute to hygiene and efficiency in real-world applications.
