Touch-Sensitive Reactive Robot
Description
The Touch-Sensitive Reactive Robot is an innovative student working model that responds to external touch or stimuli using sensor-based electronics and robotics principles. This project helps students understand how robots can detect and react to their surroundings, an important concept in automation, AI, and robotics.
The body is constructed with foam board or sun board, making it lightweight and durable. The IR sensor module acts as the robot’s sensing unit, detecting touch or close-range interactions. The system is powered by BO motors mounted on a chassis with BO wheels and a caster wheel for smooth navigation.
The L293D Motor Driver Module controls the motor functions based on sensor signals. Supporting electronic components like the 7805 voltage regulator, connecting wires, and 9V battery clip ensure stable power distribution and reliable operation. Nuts and bolts are used to securely fix the components, providing stability to the structure.
When an object or touch is detected, the IR sensor signals the control unit, causing the robot to react — either by changing direction, stopping, or moving away. This simple yet effective design makes it an excellent demonstration of interactive robotics, automation, and sensor applications.
This project is ideal for science fairs, robotics competitions, and STEM learning, as it introduces students to basic sensors, electronic integration, and autonomous robotic responses.
