Description:
The “Smart Solar Rooftop Power System” is an innovative working model for students that demonstrates how renewable energy sources like solar and hydro power can be combined to generate electricity efficiently. This project simulates a hybrid power system that utilizes both solar energy and water-driven turbine technology to produce electricity for household or commercial use.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, representing a miniature rooftop power system. The system includes:
- Solar Panel (optional for enhancement): Can be added to represent the photovoltaic system.
- Turbine & Cycle Spoke Mechanism: Water flow is directed through a 12mm tube and L-bend to rotate a turbine connected to a cycle spoke, simulating a hybrid energy source.
- 35-Gauge Copper Coil & Neodymium Magnets: As the turbine rotates, neodymium magnets pass near the copper coil, inducing an electrical current through electromagnetic induction.
- LEDs as Output Load: The generated electricity is used to power LEDs, visually demonstrating how a smart rooftop system can generate and store renewable energy.
- Grommets & Connecting Wires: Secure all components and provide efficient electrical connections.
This project provides hands-on learning in renewable energy, smart grid technology, and hybrid solar-hydro power systems, showcasing how sustainable energy solutions can be implemented on rooftops for efficient power generation.
