Smart Bike Crash Alert System using GPS and GSM
Description:
The “Smart Bike Crash Alert System Using GPS and GSM” is an innovative working model for students that demonstrates how real-time crash detection and emergency alert systems work using GPS and GSM technology. This project simulates an automated accident alert system, which detects a bike crash and sends the location of the accident to emergency contacts, ensuring quick assistance and improved road safety.
The model is built on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, representing a bike safety system. The tilt sensor detects a sudden fall or crash, triggering the Arduino Uno microcontroller to process the signal. The GPS module (NEO-6M) collects the real-time location of the bike, while the GSM module (SIM800L) sends an automated SMS alert containing the location details to emergency contacts.
The 16×2 LCD module with I2C displays system status, and the relay circuit controls the alert mechanism. BO wheels and a DVD motor simulate bike movement, while a toy fan is used to represent the cooling system. The power distribution board ensures efficient power supply, and jumper wires help connect all components for smooth operation.
This project provides students with hands-on learning in IoT applications, Arduino programming, and real-time GPS tracking, showcasing how smart accident detection systems can save lives by providing quick alerts in case of emergencies.
