Description:
The “Smart 4-Way Traffic Signal System Using Arduino” is an innovative working model designed for students to understand the functionality of an automated traffic management system. This project simulates a four-way traffic intersection, where traffic lights operate automatically based on programmed timing sequences using an Arduino Uno microcontroller.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm base made of Foam Board or Sun Board, providing a lightweight yet durable structure. PVC pipes are used to mount the LED traffic light signal modules, simulating real traffic signals. The Arduino Uno microcontroller is programmed to control the sequence of red, yellow, and green lights, regulating the flow of vehicles at the intersection.
Jumper wires are used to establish electrical connections between the components. The model can be further enhanced with sensors (not included in this version) to make the system responsive to real-time traffic conditions.
This project is an excellent way for students to learn about Arduino programming, traffic automation, and basic electronics, offering hands-on experience in smart city innovations.
