Automated Smart Sprinkler irrigation
Description:
The Automated Smart Sprinkler Irrigation System is an innovative and functional working model designed for student science or engineering projects. This compact model, measuring 40 x 50 cm, simulates a smart irrigation system that efficiently waters plants based on soil moisture levels.
The core of this project is the Arduino UNO microcontroller, which processes real-time data from the moisture sensor. When the soil moisture drops below a set threshold, the system automatically activates the AC motor pump via a relay power circuit, which pumps water through 12mm tubes to the sprinklers placed strategically across the model. A cut-off valve and T connectors are used for proper water distribution, ensuring efficient irrigation.
An LCD display shows live moisture readings, system status, and alerts. The entire system is mounted on a sturdy PVC foam sheet (sun board) with L bends for structure support, and uses jumper wires, silk wire, and a power distribution board to interconnect the electronics. The model is powered via a 2-pin top connector for ease of use.
This project is perfect for demonstrating the real-world application of automation and IoT in agriculture, promoting water conservation and smart farming practices.
