Description:
The “Automated Rain Cover for Agri Products” is an innovative working model for students designed to demonstrate how automation can protect stored agricultural products from rain. This project simulates a smart rain protection system that detects rainfall and automatically deploys a protective cover over stored crops, preventing damage due to unexpected weather conditions.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, representing an agricultural storage area or an outdoor crop drying setup. The system operates as follows:
- Rain Sensor Module: Continuously monitors for raindrops. When rain is detected, the sensor sends a signal to activate the motor.
- BO Motor & Aluminium Pipe Mechanism: The BO motor drives a rolling mechanism (using an aluminium pipe) to automatically extend or retract the protective cover over the agri-products.
- Limit Switches: Ensure that the motor stops at the correct positions, preventing excessive movement.
- Battery Clip & Toggle Switch: Provides power and allows for manual override of the system when needed.
- Push Button: Enables manual operation for testing or additional control.
- Connecting Wires: Establish electrical connections between the components for smooth functioning.
This project provides hands-on learning in automation, sensor-based weather protection, and smart agriculture, showcasing how automated covers can help protect agricultural produce from unpredictable rain.
