The “Smart Laser Safety System for Schools” is an innovative working model for students that demonstrates how laser-based security systems can enhance school safety by preventing unauthorized access and detecting intrusions. This project simulates a real-time security mechanism where laser beams act as invisible tripwires to detect movement and trigger an alarm, ensuring a safer environment for students and staff.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, representing a school entrance or restricted area with a laser security system. The system operates as follows:
- Laser Diode & Mirrors: The laser diode emits a beam, which is reflected by mirrors to create an invisible security boundary at entrances, hallways, or restricted zones.
- LDR Sensor (Light Dependent Resistor): Detects changes in light intensity. If the laser beam is interrupted (due to an unauthorized person crossing), the LDR sensor detects the break and sends a signal to the circuit.
- Relay & Voltage Regulators: Manage power flow and enable automated responses.
- Diodes, Transistors & Resistors: Ensure circuit stability and efficient signal processing.
- LED Indicators & Buzzer Alarm: When an intrusion is detected, LEDs light up, and the buzzer sounds an alarm, alerting school security or staff.
- Battery Clip & Connecting Wires: Provide power to the system, ensuring smooth operation.
This project provides students with hands-on learning in automation, security technology, and intrusion detection, showcasing how modern security systems can enhance school safety by preventing unauthorized access and alerting security personnel in real time.
