SIM800L-Based LPG Leak Detection and Emergency Alert System
Description:
The SIM800L-Based LPG Leak Detection and Emergency Alert System is a student safety innovation project built on a 40 × 50 cm foam board or sun board platform. This working model is designed to detect hazardous LPG gas leaks in real-time and instantly alert users via SMS using the SIM800L GSM module.
An LPG gas sensor continuously monitors the air for gas leaks. When a leak is detected, the system powered by Arduino UNO triggers a buzzer alert, activates an exhaust fan, displays a warning on a 16×2 LCD screen, and simultaneously sends a text message to a pre-set emergency contact through the GSM module. A servo motor can also simulate an automatic gas valve shut-off action for added safety.

- LPG sensor continuously checks gas concentration in the air.
- Upon detection of a gas leak:
- Buzzer sounds to alert occupants
- LCD displays “Gas Leakage Detected!”
- Servo motor simulates automatic valve closure
- Exhaust fan turns on to disperse the gas
- GSM module sends an SMS alert with a warning message
