Description:
The “Automated Entry Counter for Auditoriums” is an innovative working model for students that demonstrates automatic people counting in an auditorium or event hall using IR sensors and an Arduino-based system. This project simulates a real-world entry monitoring system, where the number of individuals entering or exiting is displayed on an LCD screen in real time.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, representing an auditorium entrance. IR sensors are placed at the entrance to detect each person entering and exiting. These sensors send signals to the Arduino Uno microcontroller, which processes the data and updates the count on a 16×2 LCD module with I2C.
To enhance the visual representation, LED indicators can be used to signal when the auditorium is full. A DVD motor and toy fans are integrated to simulate an automated door system that opens and closes based on entry detection. Resistors and jumper wires ensure proper circuit connections and regulate current flow.
This project provides students with hands-on learning in automation, real-time data processing, and Arduino programming, making it an ideal model for smart building systems and crowd management solutions.
