Description:
The “Auto Rain Shield for Drying Clothes” is an innovative working model for students that demonstrates how automation can be used to protect drying clothes from unexpected rain. This project simulates a smart rain protection system that detects rainfall and automatically extends a protective cover over the drying clothes, preventing them from getting wet.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, representing a clothes drying area equipped with an automated rain shield. The system operates as follows:
- Rain Sensor Module: Continuously monitors for raindrops. When rain is detected, the sensor sends a signal to the Arduino Uno microcontroller.
- Arduino Uno Microcontroller: Processes the input from the rain sensor and controls the servo motor to extend the rain shield over the drying clothes automatically.
- Servo Motor & Straw Support Mechanism: The servo motor moves the protective cover using a structure supported by straws, simulating the opening and closing of the shield.
- LED Indicators: Turn on when the system is activated, providing a visual alert of rain detection.
- Jumper Wires & Connecting Wires: Establish electrical connections between the components, ensuring smooth operation.
This project provides hands-on learning in sensor-based automation, Arduino programming, and weather protection technology, showcasing how automated systems can improve convenience and efficiency in daily life.
