Description:
The “Advanced Boat Safety Monitoring System” is an innovative working model for students designed to demonstrate how automated safety mechanisms can enhance water transportation security. This project simulates a smart safety monitoring system for boats, incorporating IR sensors, a buzzer alert, and an LCD display to detect potential hazards and alert passengers or operators.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, representing a boat equipped with safety features. The IR module detects obstacles or dangerous conditions, sending signals to the Arduino Uno microcontroller, which processes the data and activates the safety mechanisms. A buzzer sounds an alert in case of an emergency, while the 16×2 LCD module with I2C displays real-time safety information.
A servo motor is integrated to demonstrate an automated emergency mechanism, such as deploying a life-saving device or adjusting the boat’s direction in response to hazards. The push button allows manual activation of safety alerts, and jumper wires ensure proper connectivity between components.
This project provides students with hands-on learning in Arduino programming, real-time safety monitoring, and automation in maritime applications, showcasing how technology can improve safety in water transportation.
