Smart Parking Access & Vehicle Counter
Description:
The “Smart Parking Access & Vehicle Counter” is an interactive working model designed for students to explore automation and IoT-based traffic management systems. This project simulates an automated parking system that controls vehicle entry using an IR sensor and servo motor while keeping track of the number of vehicles inside using a 16×2 LCD module with I2C.
The model is constructed on a 40 × 50 cm Foam Board or Sun Board base, providing a lightweight yet durable structure. The IR sensors detect the presence of a vehicle at the entry and exit points, triggering the Arduino Uno microcontroller to send signals to the servo motor, which lifts or lowers the parking barrier accordingly. The 16×2 LCD display module with I2C keeps count of the number of vehicles entering and exiting the parking lot in real-time. Jumper wires are used to establish connections between the components, ensuring smooth functionality.
This project provides hands-on learning in Arduino programming, automation, and smart traffic control, making it an excellent choice for students interested in IoT applications and smart city solutions.
